List of all the courses offered by Anna Lee School of Dance.
Anna Lee School of Dance offers a total of 8 courses.
Our Pre School dance classes are our very first introduction class for students.
Ballet students are introduced to a variety of syllabus exercises in the first years of their training.
In 2015, JDNZ (Jazz Dance New Zealand) introduced Contemporary medal exams and we will be offering these for our students this year.
Our hip hop classes follow a more “open” style of teaching. This means that although students may spent 2 or 3 years at the same level (e.g Junior) the work will be tailor-made to suit the ability of the class.
The JDNZ work is predominantly taught to our jazz students. The JDNZ work offers a wide solid grounding with good technical exercises.
Stretch classes are offered at the beginning or end of classes where time permits. The focus is on core strengthening as well as stretching muscles to gain better flexibility.
We recommend that jazz exam students from approx grade 3 and up (or earlier) attend a ballet class once a week.
To be eligible to enter competitions a certain level of technique and artistic proficiency is required.
