This course is designed for those interested in portable fire extinguisher maintenance. Student will learn the BC Fire Code requirements regarding inspection/ test/and recharge procedures

Introduces the concepts of how accidents/incidents are caused and provides evidence to support the analysis and investigation of these causes. Analyzes a variety of sources, from historical perspectives to current behavioural theories, for their application to today's workplaces.

You will complete the course with practical examples of SOPs and related documents that are ready to employ in any food manufacturing establishment.

Based on the seven HACCP Principles, you are taken step-by-step through the development of a HACCP Plan for your preventive control plan by engaging in a case study. The four preliminary steps to HACCP, including developing a product description and process flow diagram will be examined.

Various types of risk assessments conducted in Canada are examined: Human Health Risk Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, and Health Impact Assessments. We review case studies and apply critical thinking and problem solving skills.

This intensive, hands-on course prepares the student with the knowledge and skills necessary for creating a basic 2D working drawing using AutoCAD.

Covers part modeling, detailing and assembly design. SolidWorks is a feature based parametric solid modeler used for mechanical design and manufacturing. This course covers the basic functions needed to use SolidWorks to create parts, assemblies and production drawings.

Covers sketching, part modeling, assemblies and design documentation. Autodesk Inventor uses adaptive technology to speed and simplify the mechanical design process. As a dedicated 3D mechanical computer aided design package, it is ideally suited for conceptual design.

In ‘Applied Internet of Things (IOT)’ students will develop an understanding of the practical implementation of IoT in different market segments by analyzing current real-world case studies.
