San Diego Civic Dance Arts offers a total of 6 courses.
With close to 3,000 students enrolled, the program provides our students, ages 3 to Senior Citizen, the chance to participate in a wide variety of classes such as tap, jazz, ballet, modern, musical theater, creative movement, hip hop, and Hawaiian.
Civic Dance Arts Adult Beginner Tap 1A - Have you always wanted to dance but never tried, or used to dance and now want to get back into it? If so, come join our tap class. You will learn basic taps steps through warm ups, dancing across the floor and finishing off with a combination set to music.
Civic Dance Arts Adult Advanced Beginner Jazz 2B is designed for the advanced beginner wanting to refine their skills further in order to help them move to the next level. Students will focus on executing complex steps with speed as well as working on showmanship. Teacher approval is required.
Civic Dance Arts Adult Intermediate Ballet 3A - This is a 90 minute class designed for the ballet dancer who can execute all steps from previous levels with proficiency. The first 45 minutes are spent learning how to execute more intricate steps with speed at ballet barre.
Civic Dance Arts Irish is a fun and engaging class designed to introduce your child to the basics of Irish dance. One year of jazz or ballet is required. This is the soft shoe style of Irish so jazz or ballet shoes required.
Civic Dance Arts Beginner Hip Hop 1A is a fun and engaging class designed to introduce your child to the basics of hip hop dance. Students will learn how to warm up, stretch and do strengthening exercises to music and learn basic hip hop steps and combinations to music.
